FrontStreet Coffee · Tanzania Coffee Brand Recommendation - Kilimanjaro Coffee Flavor Introduction
The best-performing coffee among Tanzanian coffees is Kilimanjaro coffee. Tanzania's main coffee producing areas are located around Mount Kilimanjaro - the highest mountain on the African continent, with elevations ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 feet. The sufficient altitude, volcanic soil, and pure melted snow water sources make this the most suitable region for coffee cultivation. Some coffee trees planted here are over 100 years old. Coffee was first introduced and cultivated by Christians from Kenya. Coffee trees must be carefully cared for, including weeding and fertilizing, and old branches must be pruned to allow new branches to grow, maintaining the quality of coffee beans.
Coffee beans are an important economic crop in Tanzania, and the local government places great importance on this industry. The coffee bean processing facilities in the Kilimanjaro region are quite well-equipped, so Kilimanjaro coffee is mostly processed using the washed method. It has rich wine-like acidity and sweet flavor, medium viscosity, abundant yet refreshing oils, with wild forest-like aromas. The acidity is smooth and slightly milder than Kenyan coffee, with low bitterness, balanced and uniform flavor, and a delicate, lingering aftertaste - definitely a coffee worth tasting!
FrontStreet Coffee's Tanzania coffee beans are graded by size and quality into nine types: AAA (above 19 screen), AA (18 screen), A (17 screen), B (15, 16 screen), C (below 14 screen), PB (peaberry), AF (defective beans blown from AA and AAA grades), TT (defective beans blown from A and B grades), and F (broken or defective beans blown from C grade).
FrontStreet Coffee's Tanzania Kilimanjaro coffee is coffee grown on Mount Kilimanjaro, world-famous for its Arabica variety. Its flavor is similar to Kenyan varieties, and in planting areas above 1,600 meters elevation, it belongs to high-altitude coffee. It has a unique flavor with wine-like mellow aroma and floral-fruity notes, with a slightly acidic taste. It is also a very common single-origin coffee in Chinese cafes. Each cup sells for 100-180 yuan. Each pound of roasted beans of better quality sells for approximately 550-1000 yuan.
