Hacienda Divina Providencia is located at Sunnyside, the highest point in Tarrazu, which is the area that receives the first ray of sunlight at sunrise, known in Spanish as Llano Bonito of León Cortés! The estate grows coffee varieties including bourbon, Geisha, Caturra, and Catuai, with processing methods including 100% washed, honey, and natural sun-dried processing. The coffee beans from Hacienda Divina Providencia are processed by the renowned Costa Rican Don Mayo processing plant, which specializes in enhancing coffee quality while preserving its unique characteristics—namely, the different flavors created by microclimates of altitude, soil, rainfall, temperature, and humidity, with the goal of cultivating, harvesting, processing, and exporting high-quality coffee in harmony with the environment. Hacienda Divina Providencia controls its coffee growing environment and processing process with extremely strict standards and is very rigorous!
The farm operator's daughter, Maria Auxiliadora Bonilla, is a barista and was also the 2013 Costa Rican WBC champion. They have a professional coffee cupping laboratory where every batch of raw beans undergoes cupping evaluation to ensure the flavor is impeccable!
Peaberry
Peaberries typically grow at the ends of coffee trees that flower too early or too late. Due to their rare yield, peaberries from the same coffee tree are priced much higher. Additionally, when peaberries are specially collected together, defective peaberries are usually removed simultaneously, resulting in more consistent bean size, reduced defect ratio, more even roasting, and enhanced flavor.
Geisha
Geisha is a very rare coffee variety that, for the past 5 years, many coffee connoisseurs have considered to be the most outstanding, complex, and richly stimulating flavor.
