Carmen Estate: A Legacy of Excellence
Carmen Estate, a family business that takes pride in continuously producing and exporting high-quality green coffee beans. In the 1950s, Efrain and Carmen Franceschi began planting high-quality Arabica coffee varieties within the estate. Today, their children and grandchildren manage the estate and processing plant, producing approximately 1,200 bags of high-quality green coffee beans annually.
Ideal Growing Conditions
Situated in the Volcan Valley of the Baru Volcano growing region, the estate benefits from cool, frost-free nights and dry, sunny days. Deeply influenced by the microclimate where Pacific and Atlantic air currents converge, the growing season experiences abundant rainfall with distinct wet and dry seasons. Additionally, the volcanic lava flows have created fertile volcanic black soil with excellent drainage, providing得天独厚的生长条件.
Environmental Stewardship
Emphasizing ecological preservation, the estate maintains 60% shaded area. Carmen Estate adheres to a series of strict agricultural production standards and properly plans the balance between social and environmental development: natural water resource and ecosystem protection, wildlife conservation, pest and disease prevention, soil maintenance, comprehensive waste management, community relationship maintenance, and providing farmers and their families with fair treatment and good living conditions.
Quality Assurance
Carmen Estate continuously pursues producing the best Panamanian coffee. Each batch undergoes cupping to confirm that no defects or errors occurred during the entire production process from harvesting to processing, avoiding any defective batches being mixed in. After testing, particularly outstanding batches are sent to the laboratory for standardized testing procedures to further analyze various aspects of coffee quality such as aroma, texture, flavor, acidity, and other indicators.
Award-Winning Excellence
In pursuit of coffee quality, Carmen Estate has consistently been a champion in coffee competitions. With stable and excellent cup flavor performance, it has achieved excellent evaluations and results in various Panamanian coffee quality assessment competitions over the years.
