Finca Injerto is located in the Guatemala-Huehuetenango highlands and is a historic farm covering a vast area of 720 hectares at an altitude of approximately 1,500-2,000 meters. Surrounding the coffee cultivation areas are 470 hectares of preserved natural rainforest. It has been operated by the Aguirre family since they settled here in 1874 and began growing coffee in 1900. The farm name "Injerto" comes from a local native fruit.

The Aguirre family places great importance on quality and sustainable agricultural practices. Parchment is used as mechanical drying fuel, and water used in fermentation tanks is first precipitated and filtered in ponds to ensure that water discharged into rivers does not pollute the downstream environment. They are also committed to planting native varieties to maintain the local forest landscape as much as possible.

No fungicides, herbicides, or pesticides are used. Instead, they focus on maintaining the ecological balance by using earthworms and other insects to enrich the soil. Special tree species are planted as shade trees (such as Araquis, a leguminous plant that prevents surrounding grass from growing) to control weeds, add nutrients to the soil, and regulate the sunlight exposure of coffee beans.

Exceptional Recognition

What makes Finca Injerto unique and outstanding is its repeated recognition in the Guatemala Cup of Excellence (COE) competition! It achieved 11th place in 2002, first place in 2006, 6th place in 2007, and in 2008, it won the championship again with the new Pacamara variety, setting a staggering record price of $80 per pound of green beans in the international coffee auction market.

Flavor Profile

The coffee features mature fruit aromatics, soft acidity, delicate texture, with prominent caramel sweetness and distinct tea-like notes.
