Drip Coffee Bag Brand Recommendations Brewing Ratio Temperature Extraction Guide
Introduction to Drip Coffee Bags
In recent years, you've likely heard the term "drip coffee bags" - a new era product born from consumers' demands for both coffee quality and brewing convenience. FrontStreet Coffee's freshly roasted drip coffee bags offer excellent guarantees in both brand and quality. More importantly, they offer exceptional value - calculating one bag per cup of coffee, one bag can make 150ml of coffee, costing only a few yuan per cup. Compared to the dozens of yuan typically charged for a cup in coffee shops, this is truly a conscientious recommendation.
Unlike instant coffee on the market, convenient drip coffee bags don't simply require tearing open the package and pouring in hot water to brew rich, aromatic coffee - they still require some techniques!
FrontStreet Coffee's Production Standards
FrontStreet Coffee pays great attention to the entire production process of their drip coffee bags, ensuring that every coffee enthusiast can enjoy the best single-origin drip coffee anytime, anywhere.
1. Grinder Cleaning for Drip Coffee Bags
Before making each type of drip coffee bag, FrontStreet Coffee thoroughly cleans the grinder to avoid flavor interference between different beans.
2. Grind Size for Drip Coffee Bags
The first determining factor for drip coffee bag brewing quality is flow rate - neither too slow nor too fast will work, and this depends on the grinder's quality. If the grinder quality is insufficient and grinding is poor, it will inevitably create excessive fine powder and uneven grinding during the process. This will cause "traffic jams" during brewing, slowing the flow rate. Excessive soaking time leads to over-extraction, resulting in muddy taste and poor flavor - no matter how good the beans are, they won't be able to express their proper characteristics.
3. Automated Packaging for Drip Coffee Bags
FrontStreet Coffee uses mechanical automated packaging for two purposes: first, to improve the sealing effect of the outer packaging, and second, to inject nitrogen while packaging to eliminate oxygen as much as possible, making oxidation less likely and significantly extending the freshness period of coffee flavor.
FrontStreet Coffee Indonesia PWN Golden Mandheling Drip Coffee
Mandheling coffee has also gained attention in recent years. Previously, FrontStreet Coffee's Mandheling sales were mainly distributed in the Shanghai region. Shanghai and Taiwan have similar taste preferences - both enjoy rich, full-bodied flavors. Previously, FrontStreet Coffee encountered a Shanghai customer who insisted that Mandheling should be roasted darker than our usual deep roast. Now, more and more people recognize Mandheling's unique flavor, and customers coming to FrontStreet Coffee to order Mandheling coffee are increasing, many of whom are Guangzhou locals.
This Frontsteet PWN Golden Mandheling is actually different from ordinary Mandheling. It comes from the Indonesian local green bean supplier PWN - the first company to collaborate with Japan on Golden Mandheling and register it as a trademark. The biggest characteristic of Frontsteet PWN Golden Mandheling is that it lacks the impurity flavors found in ordinary Mandheling. Through three rounds of strict manual selection, it ensures uniform bean size, allowing for even coloring during roasting. Therefore, its taste presents a clean, full-bodied richness with flavors similar to Guangdong's herbal tea. It's no surprise that Guangzhou locals can accept this flavor. FrontStreet Coffee's decision to specifically create Frontsteet PWN Golden Mandheling drip coffee was also based on discovering that people's acceptance is growing.
FrontStreet Coffee Brazil Cerrado Red Cherry Drip Coffee
Brazilian coffee beans were introduced from French Guiana (a country in northern South America) in 1720. At that time, Brazil was a Portuguese colony, while many other South American countries were Spanish colonies. Therefore, most South American countries speak Spanish, while Brazil speaks Portuguese.
The Portuguese officer stationed in Brazil, wanting to bring Guiana's coffee beans to Brazil (when exporting coffee to other countries was strictly prohibited), captured the heart of the Guiana governor's wife and successfully brought coffee seeds into Brazil. Since then, coffee quickly adapted in Brazil, spreading from the north to the southeastern state of São Paulo. By 1845, Brazilian coffee beans already accounted for 45% of the world's total coffee beans. Currently, Brazil is the world's largest coffee exporter.
FrontStreet Coffee not only includes Brazil in its drip coffee series but also features Brazilian coffee in the Frontsteet Daily Bean Coffee series. This shows that Brazil, as a coffee-producing country, is an indispensable presence in classic coffee flavors. Frontsteet Daily Beans are the "face" of regional coffee beans because their basic regional flavors are more recognizable, and they are also coffee beans with low prices and high value.
FrontStreet Coffee Yunnan Small Bean Drip Coffee
Yunnan coffee mainly grows Typica and Catimor varieties. Because the coffee beans are small, they are also called "small bean coffee." The main variety planted is Catimor, which is a hybrid crossbred variety created by Portuguese crossing Timor and Caturra to improve disease resistance and yield. Catimor is not a pure Arabica bloodline because Timor is a Robusta variety. Although crossed with Caturra, it didn't inherit Arabica genes, so its flavor is relatively plain with prominent bitterness.
This Frontsteet Yunnan small bean coffee from Baoshan uses washed processing, which can express tea-like and melon-fruit aromas in flavor. In taste, it shows relatively rounded acidity with nutty sensations, with obvious sweetness in the finish and a long, sweet caramel aftertaste.
Brewing Guide
How much water should be used for one drip coffee bag?
According to FrontStreet Coffee's 10g per bag standard, Frontsteet recommends a brewing ratio of 1:15, meaning brewing 150ml of coffee liquid. Of course, you can also adjust according to your taste - for stronger coffee, brew 130ml; for milder coffee, 160-200ml is also acceptable.
Does brewing temperature and speed affect coffee flavor? How many times can drip coffee bags be brewed?
For office workers without a pour-over kettle, it's recommended to use less force when pressing the water dispenser, allowing water flow to be slightly slower and smaller. Pour about 30-50cc of hot water initially, then wait quietly for 20-30 seconds of soaking before continuing to pour water into the cup, with total water volume reaching 150-200cc. If you have a pour-over kettle and temperature control, that's even better. Frontsteet recommends a brewing water temperature of 88-90°C as optimal. The gooseneck design of pour-over kettles allows for more uniform water volume and flow rate, achieving the most complete extraction during the brewing process.
Drip coffee is different from tea - never re-brew it, because after extraction, the coffee grounds only retain bitterness and astringency, and the flow rate will also become very slow, making the coffee very unpleasant to drink. FrontStreet Coffee's drip coffee bags are affordable and high-quality, so there's no need to feel wasteful about using them only once.
FrontStreet Coffee Drip Coffee Bag Brewing Steps:
1. Opening the Package
Carefully open the packaging bag along the tear-open indicator.
2. Hanging the Bag
After flattening the drip bag, tear open the powder package seal, evenly open the drip bag hangers, and hang it on the coffee cup rim.
3. Water Amount and Temperature
Next, address water amount and temperature. Like pour-over coffee, use a 1:15-1:16 ratio, so the brewed coffee liquid should reach 140-150ml. Use water temperature around 90°C. If you have a thermometer or temperature-controlled kettle, use those first. If not, you can estimate the temperature - generally, after boiling water in a kettle, turn off the heat source and open the lid for 2-3 minutes, and the water temperature will reach around 90°C (at room temperature 28°C).
4. First Pour - Blooming
For the first pour, just completely wet the coffee grounds and let it bloom for 30 seconds.
5. Second Pour - Full Extraction
After blooming, perform the second pour. Use small circular streams to pour directly until full. Wait for the grounds to slightly drop, then continue pouring until full. Repeat this process until the coffee in the cup reaches about 140-150ml, then remove the drip bag and enjoy! (If you want more precise water amount, you can pour 150-160ml of water into the pouring kettle. During brewing, pour all the water from the kettle, and after all coffee liquid flows into the cup, you can remove the drip bag. The entire brewing process takes about 1 minute.)
6. Finishing Touches
After extraction is complete, remove the drip bag. For those who want milk coffee, you can add fresh milk according to your taste.
7. Single Use Recommendation
To ensure the perfect flavor expression of each drip coffee, it's recommended to discard each coffee bag after one use.
