Is Panama's La Esmeralda Geisha the Best Tasting Coffee? What Are Its Flavor Characteristics?
FrontStreet Coffee · Is Panama La Esmeralda Geisha the Best Coffee? Flavor Characteristics?
In January 2014, Hacienda La Esmeralda, selected washed Geisha. Since 2003, continuing cupping of La Esmeralda Geisha, the flavor of Geisha is greatly associated with changes in weather. The Peterson family's consistent rigorous approach remains unchanged, which is the main reason why the Geisha variety continues to shine without any weakening. The Peterson family's attitude toward coffee is also our main reason for continuous procurement.
Following the direct procurement of La Esmeralda Colga Alfa's first natural processed Geisha in 2011, during the 2012 to 2013 production seasons, we cupped the estate's selected Boquete Geisha varieties for two consecutive years and selected this batch numbered as O'She 03 washed Geisha. We love the traditional La Esmeralda flavor with excellent cleanliness, especially the mixed flavors from the four major batches.
Regarding La Esmeralda, whose Spanish name is La Esmeralda, the Discovery Channel's broadcast [Coffee's Most Fragrant] two years ago translated it as Emerald Estate, and we will continue to use this translation. This estate is too famous in the global specialty coffee circle! Below are its distinguished award achievements:
?1st Place Specialty Coffee Association of America Roasters Guild Cupping Pavilion (2007, 2006, 2005)
?2nd Place Coffee of The Year (2009, 2008)
?1st Place "Best of Panama" (2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004)
?1st Place Rainforest Alliance Cupping for Quality (2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004)
Important family members Rachel and Daniel have both been invited to visit Taiwan's O'She, and Rachel is still the chairman of the Panama Specialty Coffee Association. La Esmeralda has won 14 championships in different coffee competitions to date, with auction prices setting world records three times, especially the $130 per pound in 2007, which attracted extensive media coverage.
