Guatemala Coffee Overview
Guatemala is a country with numerous volcanoes, and the coffee produced in volcanic soil yields rich, specialty-grade coffee. Guatemala has a high average altitude, which means coffee trees grow in environments with significant temperature variations between day and night. This harsh environment with large diurnal temperature differences allows coffee cherries to mature longer and slower on the coffee trees, resulting in hard beans with more complete and complex flavors.

Rich wet aroma, excellent balance, high sweetness, and elegant, smooth mouthfeel.

New Oriente Region
Rich volcanic soil, low humidity, abundant sunshine, and cool nights characterize this region. This valley is surrounded by three volcanoes: Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. Volcanic ash from eruptions has enriched the soil in the Antigua region with minerals. Volcanic pumice helps retain moisture, overcoming the drawback of low rainfall in the Antigua region. Dense tree shade protects against occasional frost damage.
