About Guatemala Coffee
The country of Guatemala has numerous volcanoes, and coffees produced in volcanic soil are rich, specialty coffees. Guatemala's average altitude is very high, which means the environment where coffee trees grow has significant temperature differences between day and night. This harsh environment of large temperature variations allows coffee cherries to grow longer and slower on the coffee trees, resulting in hard beans with more complete and rich flavors.
Characteristics: Rich wet aroma, good balance, high sweetness, elegant and smooth mouthfeel.

New Oriente Region
Fertile volcanic soil, low humidity, abundant sunshine, and cool nights are the characteristics of this region. This valley is surrounded by three volcanoes: Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. Volcanic ash from eruptions makes the Antigua region's soil rich in minerals. Volcanic pumice can retain moisture, overcoming the disadvantage of low rainfall in the Antigua region; dense tree shade can prevent occasional frost damage.
