Natural Ethiopia Sidamo Shakisso G1 Guji Honey Premium Coffee Bean Flavor Profile and Aroma Characteristics
Coffee Tasting Notes
Dry Aroma: Sweet cherry, raisins, preserved fruits, preserved plums, dried pineapple, strawberries
Wet Aroma: Cherry, cranberries, sweet orange, plums, blueberries, honey peaches, lychees
Sip: The entry is like sweet and juicy honey peaches, with sweet pineapple acidity. The mid-palate is filled with intense aromas of cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, and dried fruits that completely fill the mouth. The finish brings lychee and plum flavors, with a dried fruit-like viscosity. The entire coffee bean is like a tropical fruit storm invasion—elegant yet dominant, living up to its name by falling into an ocean of nectar.

Regional Background
Shakicho, located in Guji, Oromia region in the south, borders Sidama and Gedeo. This area has many mine pits that were originally used for gold mining, so there are numerous pits in this coffee-growing region. This makes walking through the coffee cultivation areas quite dangerous. Shakicho is a unique region within Guji/Sidamo—even within Sidamo, it's a remote area far from most coffee-producing regions, and the area's other famous product is gold. Factors such as miners, land, and ethnicity also made the region unstable in 2006. Therefore, the biggest challenge this region faces today is the need for manpower to maintain the cultivation areas and harvest coffee. Local small farmers began growing organic coffee here in 2001 and work closely with medium-sized coffee producers because they are familiar with how to grow forest coffee in highland areas.
Shakicho stands out within Sidamo Guji, being a region distant from most coffee-producing areas in the Sidamo province. The area's other famous industry is gold mining, with labor, land, and ethnic factors making this region unstable. However, the coffee from this region is quite special—Ninety Plus's legendary Nekisse bean also originates from this area.
Nectar, originally meaning the nectar of Shakicho, when searching on the Coffee Review website with "Guji" as a keyword, there are over ten reviews scoring 92 points or above, with several instances of high scores of 94 and 95 points.
