Mandheling Coffee Profile
Mandheling is a premium coffee bean grown on highland plateaus at elevations of 750-1500 meters. It is a rare Arabica variety in Indonesia, which primarily produces Robusta. Due to altitude, climate, and various environmental factors, the coffee beans cultivated here possess rich aroma, full body, and intense flavor, with subtle hints of chocolate and syrup. Because of its rich body and vibrant yet lively character, it offers a distinctive taste that is neither astringent nor acidic, creating an unforgettable palate experience and olfactory pleasure.
Aged Golden Mandheling
Aged coffee actually has a long history in Indonesia. In earlier times, when shipping was not as developed, transporting coffee from Indonesia to other countries took considerable time. Over this period, originally fresh, moisture-rich coffee beans gradually dried, and exposure to sea winds added a particularly special flavor. Due to advancements in modern shipping that have significantly reduced transportation time, this type of special-flavored coffee has become a specialty processed bean. Processing aged beans is a technical skill that requires careful monitoring during the aging process. Warehouse humidity and temperature must meet standard requirements, and raw coffee beans must be periodically turned to prevent moisture differences or mold that would render them useless. The aging process does not diminish flavor but creates another, and more pleasant, flavor profile.
Flavor Description
Dry aroma reveals flavors of sticky rice, malt, spice, caramel, and wood. The wet aroma after adding hot water showcases dark roasted caramel and pine notes, with subtle earthy fragrance. Upon entry, the palate experiences intense and stimulating bitterness, with clove and woody aromatic flavors, spice notes and minty mouthfeel, plus a strong, persistent aftertaste.
Suitable for coffee lovers who prefer bitter profiles!
