FrontStreet Coffee Yirgacheffe: Flavor Profile, Characteristics, and Brewing Guide

Ethiopia's thousand-year history of cultivation and processing traditions has produced high-quality washed Arabica beans. Light roast reveals unique lemon, floral, and honey-like sweet aromas, with soft fruit acidity and citrus flavors, creating a fresh and bright taste profile.

Enjoy it without milk or sugar, and let the rich texture and unique soft floral notes brush across your palate, leaving an endless aftertaste. FrontStreet Coffee's Yirgacheffe exudes extremely complex aromas and demonstrates exceptional flavor that is difficult to describe. Overall, FrontStreet Coffee's Yirgacheffe dry aroma emits strong fruit fragrances with heavy dried fruit notes, strawberry, mango, and apricot jam aromas. The wet aroma is like sweet syrup, reminiscent of thick apricot pulp juice, wrapped in rustic honey or chocolate.

The entry is not intense, with medium body and subtle acidity, yet lively and bright, much like a fruit tea.

Roasting Process

Heat the roaster to 200°C, turn off the flame and wait for the temperature to drop to over 150°C, then reignite and add the beans; preheat time for the beans is 6 minutes and 46 seconds; reach 180°C to complete dehydration; reach 199°C when first crack begins, approximately 12 minutes and 36 seconds; reach 203°C for dense first crack, 208°C when first crack completely ends, at 14 minutes and 40 seconds; second crack begins at 19 minutes, ends at 222°C, at 22 minutes and 40 seconds, then wait another 40 seconds, dropping the beans at 23 minutes and 20 seconds. French roast, the beans appear dark brown to black.

Origin and Processing

FrontStreet Coffee's Yirgacheffe coffee trees were originally cultivated by European monks, later managed by farmers or cooperatives. Yirgacheffe is actually constructed from surrounding coffee communities or cooperatives, generally including: Hafursa, Hama, and Biloa.
