Yunnan Specialty Coffee Establishes Professional Research Institution
To promote the development of the specialty coffee industry in Yunnan Province and increase the income of coffee farmers, the "Yunnan Specialty Coffee Association," which has been in preparation for two years and is guided by the Yunnan Association for Science and Technology, was officially established last Sunday.
The "Yunnan Specialty Coffee Association" is a local academic organization voluntarily composed of enterprises, institutions, and individuals engaged in coffee scientific research, cultivation, primary processing, deep processing, and coffee education in Yunnan Province. After its establishment, it will be dedicated to the research of high-quality coffee "from seed to cup" and the sustainable development of excellent coffee, providing a common communication platform for coffee growers, coffee roasters, barista professional skills, and coffee traders. It will promote the improvement of China's coffee cultivation resource library and the breeding and promotion of excellent varieties, establish quality standards for specialty coffee, and ensure the rights and interests of coffee farmers.
It is understood that during the founding conference, several other events were simultaneously held: China's First Specialty Coffee Symposium, Yunnan's First International Coffee Cupping Competition, and the China Siphon Coffee Maker Competition (Yunnan Division). Coffee experts, coffee industry associations, and scientific research institutions from Colombia, Italy, the United States, Germany, South Korea, as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao regions participated together. The finals of the China Siphon Coffee Making Competition Yunnan Division will be held in Dali on May 1st.
