Recently, netizens on social media platforms have launched another wave of imitation trends... The iced Americano, which has always been creatively modified by people, has once again seen new innovations. Compared to last year's viral "Diarrhea Iced Americano," this time everyone's innovation doesn't involve diarrhea-inducing effects that won't cause problems.
Previously, there were traditional Chinese medicine granules/herbal extracts combined with concentrated coffee, and now there's Huoxiang Zhengqi liquid mixed with iced Americano. High-end ingredients often only require the simplest cooking methods! And baristas always manage to create cutting-edge innovations from simple ingredients.
First, wash the oysters and open their shells, then place them on the barbecue rack... oh, wrong, on the coffee machine's filter rack and under the coffee brewing head. Next, grind the coffee beans into fine particles and place them in the portafilter, distribute the grounds evenly, tamp them, attach the portafilter to the brewing head, and press the switch.
The espresso extracted from 94°C hot water in just a few seconds blanches the oysters until they're rare. During the blanching process, prepare a glass of sparkling water with ice cubes and lemon juice... Then, very unexpectedly, pour the oysters in!
A cup of iced Americano called "Oyster Bitter" is ready!
Such a visually, olfactorily, gustatorily, and gastrointestinally impactful thing quickly aroused the curiosity of netizens. Recently, you can find related tutorials on different platforms, and there are also hardcore netizens who have actually tried drinking it...
Some cautious netizens, after completing the "espresso-style ceviche" step, will send the coffee-marinated oysters to the oven/air fryer. After taking them out, they drizzle lemon juice and then eat a shell of "Cooked (Ame)ri(no)can (sty)le" – even the most sleepy soul can be instantly awakened!
Besides oysters + coffee, there's also salmon sashimi Americano...
I have to say, everyone's creativity is truly amazing! After watching, netizens exclaimed:
This is truly bizarre! Although these aren't actually served as menu items, the creativity itself... if you don't eat it, you waste food... if you eat it, you become a "spraying warrior"...
The Evolution of Creative Coffee
I don't know when it started, but many creative food trends have taken on a "genetic mutation" rhythm. More and more creative coffees no longer pursue flavor combinations – as long as they're outrageous enough, they'll definitely generate buzz for a while.
Meanwhile, the rise of "local culture" has also allowed many regional specialty flavors/specialties to be combined with coffee. Baristas can create new paths with foods that would normally seem completely unrelated to coffee.
The Purpose and Concerns of Specialty Coffee
The emergence of specialty coffee was originally intended to make people who don't like coffee accept it and get more people to pay attention to coffee. However, as everyone's creativity grows larger, specialty coffee has also started to make people cautious.
Although many specialty coffees aren't actually outrageous enough to pair with raw foods, some specialty coffees use ingredients that don't match the flavor of coffee at all. Taking one sip leaves you with mixed feelings, and the prices aren't cheap either, leading to increasing caution about specialty coffee.
While outrageousness can bring temporary attention, not everything can be accepted by people. If you really want to gain more netizens' attention to your brand, there are many methods – just please stop playing with food...
