Post Office Coffee Aims for 100-Store Expansion

Recently, Post Office Coffee co-founder and CMO Dong Kexin stated in a media interview that according to their plan, they will accelerate store expansion in the second half of this year. Post Office Coffee's goal is to complete their "Hundred Store Plan" - opening 100 stores!

Dong Kexin revealed that Post Office Coffee will open stores more intensively in key cities. "Additionally, due to our advantage with China Post's network outlets, we will conduct a 'deeper' layout in sinking markets," he said.

According to him, Post Office Coffee's supply chain uses 100% Yunnan coffee beans. Regardless of the brand, ultimately it's all about the coffee business. Dong Kexin stated, "The truly core competitiveness must return to product strength, operational capabilities, and supply chain capabilities."

Post Office Coffee is a coffee shop opened by China Post. The stores primarily sell coffee beverages, as well as tea drinks and snacks. Cake products are priced at 18.8 yuan, beverages range from 12 to 30 yuan, and coffee sells for 22 to 38 yuan. Both in-store pickup and delivery services are provided.

It is said that customers can also print their photos on postcards, and the coffee shop provides mail collection and sending services. The green post office facade, filled with rich postal elements, green mailboxes paired with a cup of Post Office Coffee featuring stamp labels, creates a perfect fusion of postal service and coffee. Combined with nostalgic-style postcards, the cultural atmosphere immediately comes alive! Outdoor seating is also arranged for customers to rest and enjoy their drinks, adding to its unique character.

On February 14, 2022, "Post Office Coffee" officially began operations at No. 388 Hubin South Road, Siming District, Xiamen, opening on Valentine's Day. This reminds me of a saying - "In the past, transportation by carriage and letters were slow, one could only love one person in a lifetime." I think this is also why Post Office Coffee chose to open on February 14th, Valentine's Day. We joke about courier services, but China Post has always persisted - no matter how far or remote, EMS can always deliver to your doorstep.

Since February this year, Post Office Coffee has collaborated with China Post to create an innovative "coffee + post office" format, building a domestic coffee brand that Chinese consumers can buy, afford, and are willing to purchase.

Post Office Coffee branding and products

On May 15th, three months after the first store opened, Post Office Coffee's second Xiamen location officially opened for business, located at the Xiamen Cat Street Themed Post Office. In just half a year since then, they have successively opened 6 stores in 4 cities nationwide.

It is said that next they will gradually establish locations in cities such as Changsha, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Fuzhou. As China Post's outlets spread across streets and alleys throughout China,叠加ing coffee's fashion and trends on the post office's history, the unassuming Post Office Coffee transforms into an internet-famous check-in spot. According to reports, Post Office Coffee's 7th store - the Xiamen Jimei University Chengyi College branch - will open next week.

Post Office Coffee store expansion

As coffee consumers' demands continue to change and the coffee market becomes increasingly competitive, more and more new retail brands are exploring products and consumption scenarios, while also acquiring consumer big data and traffic. Differentiated products and internet operations may be key elements for expanding the coffee market.

Backed by the large tree of China Post, location advantages and store resources are where Post Office Coffee's strengths lie. However, with fierce competition in the coffee market - where mature brands like Starbucks and Luckin Coffee occupy important market positions, new brands continue to enter, and many time-honored brands have crossed over into coffee shops - can Post Office Coffee, entering at this time, stand out from the crowd?
