Win a Cow for Sharing Milk Tea Receipts? Ele.me Food Delivery Platform Gives a Cow to Girl with 140,000 Receipts
Have you seen the annual summaries from major payment apps, e-commerce platforms, and food delivery services? When you feel like you haven't earned much this year, take a look at your summary bill totals—the clear figures will tell you: you worked hard and earned quite a bit this year, you just spent it all.
Recently, a girl from Guangdong posted on Weibo her annual transaction amount and tags from the "Ele.me" food delivery app, and participated in the "Ele.me 2021 Annual Eating King Contest" topic launched by Ele.me on Weibo.
The prizes for this contest were incredibly impressive! First place was a dairy cow, second place was 50 kilograms of hand-ground coffee beans plus a hand grinder, third place was a truckload of fresh Chinese cabbage, fourth place was 5 selected pastry-making classes, fifth place was year-round picking rights at an orchard on a mountainside, sixth place was a van full of rice and wheat, seventh place was a professional organizer to help you organize for free for a year, and eighth place was a year-long personal training course with an 8-pack abs trainer. (Wow, how come the prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 4th places don't seem that appealing anymore!)
The Unexpected Cow Winner
And this girl, with her "ability" to order over 140,000 yuan worth of takeout through "Ele.me" in one year—with bubble tea and beverages being the most frequently ordered items—won the grand prize of this contest: a cow!

This is probably a case of "Order bubble tea while sitting, and a cow falls from the sky!" When the winning news came out, netizens quickly sent the message trending on the hot search list with their sharing skills. After all, everyone was surprised that "Ele.me" actually gave away a real cow. The official "Ele.me" Weibo account also posted that the cow was really from them! (Were they afraid people wouldn't believe it? Hahaha)
The Winner's Story
The girl who won the cow explained that since her brother runs a company and she works there too, she's responsible for afternoon tea for all company employees. When it's time for afternoon tea, everyone wants bubble tea the most, so her food delivery app is either in the process of ordering bubble tea or delivering it. The young woman herself was also surprised that she actually won the cow.
After happily receiving the cow, the young woman said she would raise it together with her family's cows so they could keep each other company! For this reason, netizens focused on this point and commented: "It seems you can't even order bubble tea without a cow pen at home!"
"The key point is that she won and can actually raise it. If I won, my home would be provided for the cow to live in! I'd be the one sleeping in the cow pen..."
Netizens' Future Plans
Now that she has a dairy cow, netizens have started planning the next steps for the young woman: first, create a tea garden, then plant cassava and fruits nearby. This would fulfill the saying that "tea is healthy, and milk is nutritious."
