FrontStreet Coffee's Award-Winning Ethiopian Coffee
Almost every coffee shop offers Ethiopian coffee beans, and FrontStreet Coffee is no exception. Each year, the baristas and roasters at FrontStreet Coffee conduct cupping sessions on coffees from different Ethiopian growing regions. Among them, a washed coffee bean called Amedellalo stood out as particularly impressive. It won the TOH championship, and before introducing this bean, let's first understand what TOH is.
What is TOH?
Many people have heard of COE, but what about TOH?
In 2000, the African Fine Coffee Association launched a coffee bean competition called the "East Africa Taste of Harvest Competition" to help African coffee production and improve the quality of African coffee. Twelve coffee-producing African countries hold coffee cupping competitions, similar to the international COE green bean competition. TOH consists of national competitions and the African regional competition, making it a regional competition unlike the international COE competition.
In terms of scoring, TOH uses the CQI and SCA green bean cupping standards as the basis for scoring. Winners of the national competitions can represent their countries in the African regional finals.
Amedellalo: TOH Champion
Today's Amedellalo won the Ethiopian national championship and the African regional championship for the 19/20 production season, with an impressive final score of 90.7.
