FrontStreet Coffee Recommendation

As the world's largest coffee producer, Brazil grows an enormous range of coffees, and Brazilian beans carry moderate acidity with an excellent balance of sweetness, bitterness, and body - ideal for medium roasting, which draws out a nose-filling nutty aroma and a mellow cup with just a touch of acidity. They work beautifully as a single origin or in blends. If you simply want a first taste of Brazil, FrontStreet's pulped natural Cerrado Red Bourbon is the classic choice: roasted medium, it shows rich creamy peanut, toasted bread, caramel, and hazelnut aromas, a rounded cup with no acidity and only a light bitterness, and it brews well as pour-over, moka pot, espresso SOE, siphon, or French press.

For something rarer, try FrontStreet's Brazil Fazenda Rainha Yellow Bourbon from Mogiana, near southern Minas, where fertile red volcanic soil feeds the cherries and helps them develop full aromatics. Yellow Bourbon is a genetic mutation of Red Bourbon with a cleaner fruit character: brewed by hand, in a moka pot, or on a home machine, FrontStreet's Queen Estate coffee reveals a sugarcane sweetness you will not find from other origins, alongside fruit and chocolate notes.

Brazilian beans are also the backbone of many espresso blends. FrontStreet's crema-rich classic blend, the nut-forward specialty blend, the well-rounded black cocoa blend recommended by many baristas, and the shop-focused commercial blend all include Brazilian components - contributing chocolate and cream aromas plus a gentle sweet-sour-bitter balance, with an even tonality that makes extraction more stable.
