Yirgacheffe Natural Aricha Coffee Beans Flavor, Aroma & Taste Characteristics | Yirgacheffe Coffee Region Story

FrontStreet Coffee Yirgacheffe Aricha Natural Introduction
The world-renowned Yirgacheffe region was originally a small town within the Sidamo region, serving as a collection center and important transportation hub for coffee beans. The area surrounding Yirgacheffe town has very high altitudes, ranging from 1750 to 2400 meters. Numerous coffee villages in this highland plateau engage in coffee cultivation and production, making it the highest altitude coffee-producing region in the country.
FrontStreet Coffee's Yirgacheffe Natural Aricha is produced at the Kebel Aricha processing station, where approximately 650-700 small coffee farmers from nearby areas deliver their ripe coffee cherries for processing and receive cash payment. After selection at the processing station, usable cherries are placed directly on raised beds for sun-drying. During the first few days of drying, workers manually turn the cherries every 2-3 hours to prevent over-fermentation.
After 4-6 weeks of natural processing, workers remove the outer fruit layer of the coffee beans using machinery, depending on weather and temperature conditions, before transporting them to Addis Ababa for storage. Typically, natural-processed beans are stored as parchment beans until just before export when they are hulled to ensure green bean quality.
This batch of FrontStreet Coffee's Aricha has a relatively low defect rate for naturally processed green beans, with an exceptionally explosive aroma. The dry aroma presents rich berry fragrance with candy-like sweetness. Upon tasting, you can detect a subtle wine-like quality that is refreshing. There's also a very prominent citrus aroma with a pleasant sweet-tart balance. The aftertaste is reminiscent of the concentrated essence of preserved fruit candy, evoking a joyful, innocent feeling.
