Only a very small portion of the world's coffee is truly certified organic coffee, because this certification process takes quite a long time, approximately three years. Additionally, this type of cultivation can cause coffee production to decrease by up to 50%. Therefore, when coffee growers decide to pursue organic certification, it means they are beginning a time-consuming and financially demanding investment.
Organic coffee is cultivated without using any insecticides or other chemical agents to treat pests, diseases, or cultivation problems. Instead, natural methods are used, such as natural compost, hedging, and pruning to maintain the growth of coffee trees. In pest control, purely natural biological control methods are used, such as planting protective trees and utilizing various other natural agricultural techniques to ensure the health of coffee trees. This is because organic coffee producers actively focus on the sustainability of land, water sources, and natural ecological environments.
High-quality organic coffee is the masterpiece of heaven, earth, and people—the essence of weather, soil, and love. A coffee tree needs five years to grow before it can flower and bear fruit. One pound of coffee requires approximately 4,000 coffee beans, all harvested by hand. The coffee cherries harvested from each tree each year are only enough to produce one pound of roasted coffee beans, making it precious due to its rarity.
