FrontStreet Coffee - Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Introduction
The world-renowned Blue Mountains are located in the eastern part of Jamaica Island. Surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, they are named because on clear days when the sun shines directly on the azure sea surface, it reflects the brilliant blue light of the seawater onto the mountain peaks, hence the name Blue Mountains.
The highest peak of the Blue Mountains reaches an altitude of 2256 meters, making it the highest peak in the Caribbean region and a world-famous tourist destination. As this area is located in a seismic zone, it has fertile volcanic soil, fresh air, no industrial pollution, and a humid and suitable climate with year-round fog and rain.
The Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee logo is a globally protected certification mark, which means only genuine Blue Mountain coffee certified by the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board can bear such a label. It comes from a recognized growing region in Jamaica's Blue Mountains area, and its cultivation continues to be supervised by the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board.
Such climate conditions have created the world-renowned Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, which also ranks as the second most expensive coffee in the world. Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee possesses all the characteristics of fine coffee. Not only is it rich and mellow in flavor, but due to the perfect balance of sweetness, acidity, and bitterness in the coffee, it has no bitter taste at all, only moderate and perfect acidity.
The same coffee varieties, when planted in similar climates in Hawaii, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, or any other location, cannot produce the flavor of Blue Mountain coffee beans. As the saying goes "local environment nurtures local people," similarly, the perfect quality of Blue Mountain coffee is also related to its geographical environment.
Blue Mountain Coffee is grown in the southern mountain region of the Blue Mountains, with the highest peak reaching 2256 meters, making it the highest peak in the Caribbean region. However, the finest quality Blue Mountain Coffee is grown at higher elevations on the Blue Mountains themselves.
