Kaffa, located in the southwestern highlands of Ethiopia at an altitude of 1800-2400 meters, features a subtropical highland climate with abundant rainfall and fertile soil. It serves as an important agricultural and pastoral region, and is the main coffee-producing area in the country and the birthplace of Arabica coffee. After the 13th century, coffee gradually spread to the rest of the world.

Ethiopia is the homeland of Arabica coffee. It is in the forests of Ethiopia's Kaffa region that you can find wild Arabica coffee. In the Ethiopian language, coffee is called 'Bun' or 'Buna', and the term 'coffee bean' may have been translated from 'Kaffa Bun'. The Harar region discovered Arabica coffee very early on, likely originating from the Kaffa forests.

We traditionally divide Ethiopia into nine coffee-producing regions: Sidamo, Yirgacheffe, Gimbi, Harar, Limu, Illubabor, Jimma (Lekempti), Tepi, and Bebeka.

The 'Bita Estate' comes from the Kaffa forests of Ethiopia and features Ethiopian heirloom varieties.
