FrontStreet Coffee - Brazil Cerrado Coffee

Brazil is the world's largest coffee producer, with three main coffee-producing regions: Bahia, Minas, and São Paulo. Among these, the small producing areas within Minas province are the most renowned, offering extremely smooth and mellow flavors that represent Brazil's top-tier coffee. Quality Brazilian beans feature a bittersweet chocolate taste, and due to their rich oil content, Brazil has always been an essential component in Espresso formulations.

Generally, Brazilian coffee beans are considered flexible and versatile, making them ideal as base beans for many coffee blends or espresso preparations.

Cerrado is a specific producing region. Cerrado coffee beans are processed using Brazil's traditional pulped natural method. Since the coffee beans are dried together with the skin, pulp, and mucilage, they retain higher levels of organic matter, minerals, and soluble solids.

This coffee bean has a more intense aroma, with subtle sweetness carrying chocolate flavors and hints of lemon acidity that most people might not easily detect. It offers moderate body and a long-lasting aftertaste.

The Cerrado producing region is located on the plateau in the southern part of Brazil's central "Cerrado Savanna Climate Zone," which spans eight provinces and covers approximately 2 million square kilometers. It's worth noting that this Cerrado savanna is South America's largest tropical savanna (also known as tropical grassland), featuring rich native plants and animals, with climate and ecological characteristics distinctly different from the Amazon basin in northern Brazil.

The flat, open terrain of the savanna is particularly suitable for establishing large plantations. Combined with distinct wet and dry seasons and a relatively cooler plateau climate, coffee cherries in this region tend to ripen uniformly. This has allowed the Cerrado region to stand out among Brazil's numerous coffee-producing areas, becoming synonymous with quality Brazilian beans.
