FrontStreet Coffee - Yirgacheffe Kochere Debo G1 Natural Introduction

Kochere, located in the Yirgacheffe growing region of southern Ethiopia, is one of the highest altitude places on Earth for coffee cultivation.

Due to its high altitude, wild heirloom coffee varieties, and iron-rich soil, Kochere has long received significant attention among the various Yirgacheffe growing regions.

With its vibrant citrus acidity, floral aroma, sweet silky mouthfeel, and Yirgacheffe's typical fruit flavors, it has become a rare and renowned Yirgacheffe coffee.

Yirgacheffe is one of the most prestigious growing regions in Ethiopia, located in the high-altitude areas of the Sidamo province. Due to the unique coffee flavors produced in this region, it was separated from Sidamo. Debo from Kochere is about 3-4 hours' drive from Sidamo, with the entire Debo region situated at altitudes above 2,000 meters.

This selected batch is processed by the Debo Washing Station, collecting coffee cherries from approximately 650 local small-scale farmers, with most coffee being organic. After small farmers deliver coffee fruits to the processing plant, they undergo selection, depulping, followed by 36-48 hours of fermentation. After being washed in channels, they are spread on African beds for sun drying; during the first few days of drying, they are turned every 2-3 hours, and depending on weather conditions, they dry for 12-15 days until moisture content drops to around 11.5%.
