FrontStreet Coffee - Hawaii Kona Extra Fancy Introduction
KONA is produced on the Big Island of Hawaii, the largest island in Hawaii. It comes from the KONA region located on the western slopes of Mauna Kea Mountain at 4,200 meters above sea level. The tropical rainforest climate brings abundant annual rainfall, and coffee trees are planted on fragmented volcanic rock and black gravel. The local natural environment is exceptionally suitable for coffee bean cultivation, resulting in premium quality coffee.
KONA has limited production and is processed by small-scale, sophisticated operations that produce excellent quality green beans, making it quite expensive—second only to Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. Consumers who have traveled to Hawaii know that KONA coffee purchased in tourist areas is not inexpensive, and many are actually KONA blend coffees (with KONA beans only accounting for a small percentage).
This product comes from the Kona region on the western side of the Big Island of Hawaii, produced by the established Captain Cook Estate, with Typica as the main variety. Although Hawaii Kona is less expensive than Blue Mountain, its elegant fruity sweet and sour flavor is comparable, and even superior to Blue Mountain. In terms of acidity, sweetness, and body, it surpasses the relatively lighter Blue Mountain profile. If you prefer a richer flavor profile, Kona is an excellent value-for-money choice. The Kona region is surrounded by volcanoes with diverse climate patterns, significant temperature differences between day and night, combined with years of variety improvement by Hawaiian academic institutions and unique high-tech cultivation techniques worldwide, making Kona coffee the top choice among island coffees.
