In 1727, when Brazil was still under Portuguese rule, the governor of French Guiana invited Brazilian official Francisco de Melo Palheta, who was in Portuguese territory, to help resolve a border dispute. According to legend, after this Brazilian official arrived in French Guiana, he seduced the local governor's wife to obtain coffee seeds. When leaving, the governor's wife gave Palheta a bouquet containing hidden coffee seeds, and he finally obtained the coffee seeds he had long dreamed of. After returning to his country, he planted coffee trees, but at that time, it was likely limited to personal consumption and had not yet become an important crop. It wasn't until coffee cultivation areas began extending southward that Brazilian coffee gradually started to dominate the world.
Brazilian coffee not only has abundant production but also high quality and unique flavor. Typically, Brazilian coffee exhibits rich caramel and chocolate flavors, with noticeable sweetness and low acidity. This characteristic of low acidity sometimes leads people to underestimate its quality. However, when tasted carefully, one is surprised to discover how wonderful it truly is.
Fazenda Bau is a farm that specializes in exporting specialty coffee to Japan, the United States, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, and the Netherlands. In their completely specialized business model, the entire family participates in the operation of Fazenda Bau. Their efforts are always dedicated to producing high-quality coffee for export. Fazenda Bau has an annual rainfall of 1,800mm, is located on a plateau at an altitude of 1,100 meters, and spans over 700 hectares. It is a farm that uses the latest equipment and high-quality management, producing only specialty coffee. Most of Fazenda Bau's coffee is reserved for owners who prioritize quality. Due to its specialty coffee characteristics, the quantity is very limited, so only a small amount circulates in the market. The farm has Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certification seals. The IPR-99 special variety comes from Villa Sarchi X Timor Hybrid.
