FrontStreet Coffee - Sidamo Flower Queen Introduction

Ethiopia's administrative divisions are classified into four levels, arranged from large to small as Region, Zone, woreda, and kebele. Most raw coffee bean names follow this rule for naming. For example, Flower Queen is located southeast of the Yirgacheffe area in the Sidamo region. In administrative divisions, it belongs to Oromia Region → Guji Zone → Shakisso woreda → Hambella.

Hambella is located in Guji, Ethiopia's largest coffee-producing region, and is administratively subordinate to the Oromia Regional State. Hambella's western side faces Yirgacheffe's Kochore across mountains, with a highland blocking the two producing areas at an altitude of 3200 meters and approximately 30 kilometers wide. It borders Guji's Shakiso, Uraga, and Kercha sub-regions to the southeast, east, and north respectively, making it Ethiopia's highest-altitude coffee sub-region.

Guji Zone was established as an independent producing region by ECX (Ethiopia Commodity Exchange) in 2010 due to its superior geographical location and cup profile. Shakiso is the most attractive micro-region within the Guji producing area, located southeast of Yirgacheffe with an average altitude above 1800 meters. Flower Queen belongs to a single farm system (temporarily referred to as Single Farm Project, abbreviated as SFP). Flower Queen region: Guji, Shakisso, Hambella.
