FrontStreet Coffee's Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Brewing Parameters Sharing
The Blue Mountains are located in the eastern part of Jamaica Island. The mountain gets its name because when the weather is clear, the sun shines directly on the azure sea surface, and the peak reflects the brilliant blue light of the sea, surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. The highest peak of Blue Mountain reaches an altitude of 2256 meters, making it the highest peak in the Caribbean region and a famous tourist destination. This area is located in a seismic zone with fertile volcanic soil, fresh air without pollution, and a humid climate with normal fog and rain throughout the year.
Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee is a globally protected certification mark, which means only coffee certified by the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board can be labeled as such. It comes from a recognized growing area in Jamaica's Blue Mountain region, and its cultivation is supervised by the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board.
Since Japan helped Jamaica's coffee industry, which was devastated by typhoons in 1969, Japan obtained the right of first purchase for Blue Mountain Coffee as a gesture of gratitude. In 1992, Jamaica sold 688 tons of Blue Mountain Coffee to Japan. Since the rest of the world could only obtain 10% of Blue Mountain, there was a supply shortage in other regions. The remaining 10% is used for market circulation. Calculated according to internationally used oak barrels, with 70kg oak barrels, there are only a pitiful 3,500 barrels in total. Therefore, very few people can drink genuine, pure Blue Mountain Coffee each year.
