FrontStreet Coffee Introduces Honduran Coffee
Honduras is one of the few countries with production capacity, as countries like Costa Rica and Panama are experiencing land pressure from other demands, resulting in less coffee being harvested. Honduran coffee can range from bright, acidic aromatic profiles with light and sugarcane-like sweetness to more caramel notes with lower acidity, making it quite good for espresso. Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon varieties can be found in Honduras, classified by altitude from "Central Standard" to "High Grown" to "Strictly High Grown."
Honduras possesses all the environmental factors: soil, altitude, climate, and farmers who are increasingly receiving higher levels of agricultural training. Coffee from Honduras is wet-processed, typically not outstanding in quality, and serves as a good foundation for blends. Due to the fact that few Honduran coffee beans reach the United States, you may not have the opportunity to compare this coffee with other Central American varieties.
