Introduction to FrontStreet Coffee's Honduras Lychee Orchid Coffee
Honduras is a mountainous country in Central America, located between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, bordering Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. It has a tropical climate with an average annual temperature of 23°C. With abundant rainfall throughout the year, it provides an ideal environment for coffee cultivation. The country has 280,000 hectares of coffee plantations, mostly consisting of small coffee estates. Honduras has made many improvements and advancements in processing technology and transportation capabilities, achieving significant development in the coffee market over the past 20 years. Increasingly more people are beginning to pay attention to Honduran coffee, and it has gained recognition from many major coffee-consuming countries.
In recent years, many processing plants have introduced various innovative processing methods. While various processing methods scoring 90+ points were once a novelty in the early days, now anaerobic processing, red wine processing, and the current oak barrel processing methods have become increasingly common. It can be said that these new processing methods have greatly enriched the flavor profiles of coffee beans.
Next, I'd like to introduce an extremely popular coffee from this year - a全新的 Honduras brandy oak barrel fermented bean. This processing method involves first finely washing the freshly picked coffee cherries, then placing them in brandy oak barrels for low-temperature fermentation for 30-40 days (at approximately 15-20°C), followed by shade drying. The beans processed through brandy barrel fermentation have a gentle sweetness of lychee and honey, while also incorporating the rich aroma of brandy and the fragrance of oak barrels.
