Mandheling Coffee
Mandheling is actually just a name with historical significance. Due to the special geographical environment around Lake Toba, Mandheling coffee blends a large amount of soft earthy flavors while having a relatively strong taste and lower acidity. Generally, finished Mandheling coffee has a unique fragrance of herbs and forest, with a very distinctive flavor that forms a stark contrast with Lintong coffee, also from Sumatra Island but with more floral and fruity notes.
Compared to the handsome and elegant Blue Mountain, Mandheling, though unremarkable in appearance, has an exceptional masculine quality. Drinking it brings a feeling of exhilarating freedom, unrestrained passion, and roaming the world - a taste and sensation that captivates men.
Mandheling coffee beans are relatively large with hard texture, making them prone to defects during cultivation. After harvesting, they typically require strict manual selection. If the quality control process is not rigorous enough, it can easily lead to inconsistent quality. Additionally, different roasting degrees directly affect the taste, making it a controversial single-origin coffee. Mandheling has a strong flavor with rich body and vibrant, lively dynamics, neither astringent nor acidic, with body and bitterness fully expressed. The appearance of Mandheling coffee beans can be said to be the ugliest, but coffee enthusiasts say that the less attractive Sumatran coffee beans look, the better, richer, and smoother they taste.
Flavor: Has a special caramel aroma, with fragrant and rich taste, prominent bitterness, and extremely low acidity.
Colombian Coffee
Colombia is the second largest coffee-producing country after Brazil, the world's largest exporter of Arabica coffee beans, and the world's largest exporter of washed coffee beans. Among all coffees, it has the best balance, with a soft and smooth taste.
Planting Altitude: 1000 - 2500 meters
Cultivated Varieties: In addition to common varieties in American growing regions such as Caturra, Bourbon, Typica, and Pacamara, Colombia also has three unique disease-resistant varieties: Castillo, Tabi, and the Colombia variety (named after the country). Of course, there are also some rare and precious varieties like Gesha, small-grained Mocca, Rume Sudan, Eugenioides, Laurina (Pointed Bourbon), and Maragesa (a natural hybrid of Maragogipe and Gesha).
Flavor: Rich acidity, caramel, sweet nuts, chocolate, with red wine notes and admirable fruit flavors.
Taste: Full viscosity, caramel sweetness, and pleasant, smooth fruit acidity.
