In Panama, a small island less than a hundred kilometers wide, winds constantly rotate and change direction; rain falls without warning, clouds carry mist and ice rain floating over mountain peaks, and global climate systems intertwine and collide, creating astonishing microclimate changes. The home of the Butterfly - the Boquete region - is Panama's oldest and most famous coffee-producing area. At 1,600 meters above sea level, the Baru Volcano region boasts fertile soil, year-round mist, abundant rainfall, significant day-night temperature differences, and rich biodiversity. Coffee farmers carefully select ripe coffee cherries through meticulous water washing, then dry them using scientifically verified sun-drying methods, resulting in full-bodied, pure-flavored coffee beans. Boquete coffees are like princesses raised in wealthy families - carefree, magnificent, and generous.

The Elegant Butterfly of the Coffee World

In the world of coffee, there exists an elegant butterfly - the Butterfly. The reason this coffee is well-known among coffee enthusiasts is its composition of 40% of the current superstar coffee variety - Geisha coffee beans.

The coffee used in Butterfly comes from the Panama Boquete producing region, situated near the border of Panama and Costa Rica, close to the famous Baru Volcano. With picturesque scenery at an altitude of 1,600 meters, abundant rainfall, significant day-night temperature differences, fertile volcanic soil, and meticulous planning and management during harvesting periods, the coffee from this region performs exceptionally well in terms of body, acidity, and floral notes.

Panama Boquete Butterfly

Origin: Boquete of Panama

Bean Varieties: 40% Gesha, Catuai, Caturra

Altitude: 1,600m

Processing Method: Washed

Flavor Profile: Gesha floral aromas, tropical fruits, berry flavors, honey sweetness and smoothness, with lasting aroma and finish.

Beyond its affordable price, the most appealing aspect of Butterfly is its 40% Gesha composition, which gives this coffee a distinct Geisha flavor. As Da Bai once said, "If possible, you could separate this 40% and drink pure Panamanian Geisha." In fact, in the early days, Gesha coffee trees were planted mixed with Catuai and Caturra varieties. To facilitate harvesting, coffee farmers didn't distinguish between them but directly mixed all three varieties. It was only after Gesha shot to fame and prices skyrocketed that processing plants like La Esmeralda, Elida, and Akaba began more refined processing methods.
