Chocolate Lover Estate

Chocolate Lover Estate is a farm located in the Santa Ana volcanic region of El Salvador, situated at an altitude of 1300-1500 meters. On the mountainside of the volcanic zone, there is abundant moisture and numerous microclimates, which contribute to the exceptionally delicate flavor of the coffee grown here. This farm primarily grows the Bourbon variety, extending across the entire mountainside. Due to the well-preserved original forest vegetation in this area, the coffee plantation often receives visits from nearby birds, reptiles, and other wildlife.

The farm primarily uses different processing methods to showcase this coffee bean. The estate owner blends 50% honey-processed and 50% washed coffees in El Salvador to create this single origin "Chocolate Lover" coffee. Using 100% Bourbon variety with different processing methods allows the coffee to exhibit more complex layers and rich mouthfeel. The honey processing method involves transporting coffee beans to a honey processing facility at approximately 800 meters altitude. The advantage of processing at lower altitudes is that it's less prone to fog, with sufficient sunlight and strong UV rays, allowing coffee beans to absorb enough thermal energy. This results in excellent aroma development. The honey-processed coffee here can be dried in a short time, presenting more solid and robust flavors. The washed method utilizes the abundant water resources in this region to produce a very clean taste.

Blending 50% honey-processed coffee with 50% washed coffee creates a distinctive single origin coffee that represents the flavor profile this estate aims to express. Because this coffee is filled with notes of chocolate, cocoa, and nuts, with a very smooth body, it is suitable for medium roasting to highlight its unique chocolate characteristics.

Due to the farm owner's love for this land, they use forest-style cultivation methods, preserving many native tree species as shade trees. This also provides suitable habitats for wildlife, demonstrating kindness to the global environment. The estate also cares about the farmers' livelihoods, distributing bonuses during different holidays to help farmers live better lives.
