Hawaiian Kona Coffee | Extra Fancy Ariana Farm Queen Estate Washed Typica Flavor

Hawaiian Kona coffee beans are grown along the western coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, nurtured in the region's unique fertile volcanic soil. Renowned for their exquisite craftsmanship and elegant, delicate flavors, they represent another pinnacle in the world of coffee. In terms of rarity and price, they can almost compare with Blue Mountain...

Hawaiian Queen Coffee Farm is located in the heart of Hawaii Island's coffee belt, boasting a 160-acre plantation. The estate hosts the Kona Cupping Competition every November on Hawaii Island. Queen's Estate gained fame for winning second place in the large farm category for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012, then winning first place for two consecutive years in 2013 and 2014, and placing third in 2016. They also won first place in the Hawaii Statewide Kona Festival Competition in 2007 and 2011, and were selected as one of Hawaii's Top Ten Outstanding Coffees in 2009 and 2010.

The Ono Kona coffee from Ariana Farm represents our 50-acre Kona coffee farm, stretching across the verdant slopes of Hualalai Volcano. Our family farm is located on the historic Mamalahoa Highway in the original "Kona Coffee Belt," where Kona coffee first originated. Sunny mornings and misty afternoons, accompanied by warm tropical rain showers and gentle ocean breezes, provide the ideal environment for growing one of the world's most distinctive coffees—Kona coffee.

Coffee Information

Estate: Queen's Estate

Variety: Typica

Grade: Extra Fancy

Region: Big Island, Hawaii

Altitude: 550 - 760 m

Processing Method: Washed processing, natural or machine drying

Flavor Notes: Cantaloupe, nectar, brown sugar, with rich tropical fruit sweetness and delicate aromas. The sweetness is full-bodied, with clean, bright fruit acidity that brings out sweetness. The vanilla and herbal notes in the mouth are pleasant, with a delicate and smooth oily texture. The aftertaste's sweetness and fruit aroma are exceptionally long-lasting.

FrontStreet Coffee Recommended Brewing Method:

Dripper: Hario V60

Water Temperature: 90°C

Grind Size: Fuji grinder setting 3.5

Brewing Method: Water-to-coffee ratio 1:15, 15g coffee grounds. First pour 25g water and bloom for 25 seconds. Second pour to 120g water, then pause. Wait until the water level in the coffee bed drops to halfway, then continue pouring slowly until reaching 225g total water. Extraction time approximately 2:00.

Analysis: Using a three-stage brewing method to clearly express the coffee's front, middle, and back-end flavors. Because the V60 has many ribs and drains quickly, pausing during pouring can help extend the extraction time.
