The Republic of Malawi is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa, bordering Tanzania to the north, Zambia to the west, and Mozambique to the east across Lake Malawi (the third-largest lake in Africa). Malawi has a population of approximately 12.5 million people. The Malawi Geisha variety is primarily cultivated in the high-altitude Misuku region.

Malawi lies in southeastern Africa, landlocked and without access to the sea. From the north to the center of the country, the eastern border with Tanzania is formed by the vast natural boundary of Lake Malawi, which even extends to the border with Mozambique. The western neighbor is Zambia. In the central and southern parts of the country, the border runs from east through south and around to the west, all along Mozambique.

Malawi is also a member of the Eastern Africa Fine Coffees Association (EAFCA). At the annual SCAA exhibitions and European SCAE exhibitions, the Eastern Africa Fine Coffees Association sets up booths to promote their coffees, gradually gaining exposure and recognition.
