The Republic of Malawi is a landlocked country located in southeastern Africa, bordering Tanzania to the north, Zambia to the west, and Mozambique to the east across Lake Malawi (the third largest lake in Africa). Malawi has a population of approximately 12.5 million people. The Malawi Geisha variety is primarily cultivated in the high-altitude Misuku region.
Malawi is situated in southeastern Africa and is a landlocked country without access to the sea. From the northern to central parts of the country, the eastern border with Tanzania consists of a vast natural boundary formed by Lake Malawi. This lake even extends to the border with Mozambique. The western neighboring country is Zambia. The central and southern parts of Malawi, from east to south all the way to the west, border Mozambique.
Malawi is also a member of the Eastern Africa Fine Coffees Association (EAFCA). At the annual SCAA exhibitions and European SCAE exhibitions, the Eastern Africa Fine Coffees Association sets up booths to promote their coffees, gradually gaining exposure and recognition.
