Uganda Coffee Bean - Bugisu AA
Region: Bugisu
Grade: AA
Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa.
Just as Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica coffee, Uganda is also one of the few major African countries dedicated to organic coffee production.
Coffee is mainly exported to European countries.
Uganda's most famous coffee is Bugisu, grown on the steep slopes of Mt. Elgon near the Kenya border. The transportation of coffee beans relies almost entirely on donkeys.
The coffee is rich and thick. When slowly tasted at hot, warm, and cold temperatures, it proves to be very stable and doesn't turn sour as the temperature decreases, only carrying a slight fruity acidity with a pleasant aftertaste.
Uganda coffee bean grading follows the same system as Kenya, with AA grade being the best. This grading represents consistent and uniform coffee bean size, with a heavy body and aftertaste featuring chocolate-like aroma and sweetness, showing distinct differences from typical African beans.
The Bugisu region in northern Uganda near the Kenya border produces excellent green beans, and those who have tasted it are very surprised by its high quality. Green beans: AA Characteristics: The acidity is not bright, with chocolate's bittersweet flavor, distinct caramel sweetness, and a slight fruity sweetness.

When I first heard about Geisha coffee beans, I mistakenly thought that Kyoto had also started growing coffee, haha—what a huge mistake! In fact, the original name for Geisha coffee beans is Geisha, also known as Gesha, which happens to have the same pronunciation as Japanese geisha. That's why it's called this in Chinese, but in reality, it has nothing to do with Japanese
