Aroma Profile

Future Prospects

In Uganda, Arabica coffee bean production accounts for only 10% of the nation's total coffee output, but this is sufficient to attract attention. Uganda's best coffee is mainly produced in the Mount Elgon region and Bugisu region along the Kenyan border in the north, as well as the Rwenzori mountains in the west. This coffee is available for export each January or February.

The equator crosses Uganda, and its suitable climate makes it one of the world's main Robusta coffee bean producing regions. In the 1960s, Uganda's coffee production maintained 3.5 million bags annually. By the mid-1980s, mainly due to political reasons, coffee production declined to 250,000 bags per year.
