It is currently the only high-quality, noble, and mellow Myanmar coffee brand in the country. Therefore, in a sense, Myagola Coffee represents Myanmar coffee. Due to its scarce production, Myagola Coffee becomes even more precious. Its products are mainly black coffee, but it is also a unique choice for blending mixed coffee.
Myagola Coffee: silky smooth texture, luxurious and rich aroma, with a gentle acidity that carries a clear and transparent fruit character. It slowly melts on the palate, emitting an unparalleled pleasant aroma. As the nobility among coffees, Myagola Coffee grows on the Shan State Plateau at an altitude of approximately 1,436 meters, with a tropical and subtropical climate. With its unique richness and luxurious aroma, it has been passionately pursued by the elite, becoming the king of Myanmar coffee.
Brief History of Myanmar Coffee Myagola
On July 13, 1813, Adoniram Judson and Ann Judson, Protestant missionaries known as the apostles of Myanmar and members of the American Baptist Mission, brought Catholicism and coffee to Myanmar. As an indispensable daily beverage, they began trying to plant coffee trees in Myanmar.
In 1885, Myanmar became a British colony. The colonists presented Myanmar coffee to Queen Victoria, after which they began introducing coffee seeds from British royal estates to Myanmar for cultivation.
In 1894, due to geographical and other factors, the British moved their administrative office from Maing Thauk (Bauckstedman) on the eastern shore of Inle Lake to Taunggyi. Taunggyi is located in southeastern Myanmar on the Shan State Plateau at an altitude of 1,436 meters. It serves as the political, cultural, and commercial trade center of Shan State, being the fourth largest city in Myanmar, with a tropical and subtropical climate. Due to its unique geographical and climatic conditions, Taunggyi coffee became representative of Myanmar's premium coffee.
In 2015, evaluation results from 200 coffee experts, including those from Winrock International USA, showed that Myanmar coffee scored 85 points. The Myanmar Coffee Cultivation Association announced that among ASEAN countries, Myanmar coffee has the highest quality.

Origin Introduction
The unpolluted pristine land of Myanmar's Maymyo mountain region is geographically located between 18° and 24° north latitude. Almost the entire territory lies within the international coffee production zone (COFFEE ZONE). Particularly, the Mong Shan region consists mainly of plateau and mountain terrain with fertile soil. The day-night temperature difference can reach 22°C, and climates with greater temperature variations provide the best conditions for producing sweet-fruited coffee. With elevations ranging from 500 to 3,000 meters, annual rainfall of approximately 1,500-2,000mm, moderate humidity and moisture, and mostly dense forests, it can be described as an excellent place for Arabica coffee cultivation.
Myanmar began cultivating coffee beans in 1885, but for nearly a century after cultivation began, there were no exports or significant commercial activities.
In the mid-to-late 20th century, the United Nations Drug Control Programme (UNDCP) began promoting coffee cultivation to encourage Myanmar farmers to abandon poppy cultivation.
However, during this period, due to the astonishing profits from the original drug trade and the substantial control by the military government, many farmers joined the program and earned subsidies for coffee cultivation while actually continuing to grow poppies.
Nevertheless, as of a few years ago, Myanmar had 100,000 acres of coffee fields, with more than half in southern Shan State, near Mandalay, and other areas.
Regardless of Myanmar's current coffee processing techniques, vast natural shade forests and low-pollution natural environments provide Myanmar with the potential to achieve high-quality coffee.
Myanmar's agricultural officials have also systematically sent agricultural experts worldwide to search for suitable varieties and bring back plants and seeds.
Myanmar can find many well-known varieties: H528, Catuai, SL34, S795, Blue Mountain, and the highest quality S795. These varieties are sufficient to compete with common traditional varieties.
