Introduction

Myanmar is located between 10 and 28 degrees north latitude. The northern plateau region ranges from 500 to 3,000 meters in elevation, with annual rainfall between 1,500mm and 2,000mm. Most of this area consists of untouched primary forests, making it an excellent location for coffee cultivation.

May Myo, formerly known as Myo, has a long history of coffee cultivation in Myanmar and boasts the most extensive developed farm areas. Government and private enterprises have established coffee research, breeding, training, and promotion institutions centered in this region. Farmers practice organic cultivation methods without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, harvesting 100% fully ripe coffee cherries. Subsequent refined processing is carried out through multiple rounds of manual sorting, making May Myo the current center of Myanmar's specialty coffee industry.

In Myanmar's coffee cultivation, Arabica varieties are mostly grown in the northern regions, while Robusta varieties are primarily produced in the south. According to evaluation results from 200 coffee experts at Winrock International in the United States, Myanmar coffee scored 85 points, making it the country with the highest coffee quality among ASEAN nations.

The Mt. Emerald Estate coffee beans originate from Myanmar's northern Kachin State, part of the Himalayan mountain system. This area reaches an altitude of 2,800 meters and is world-famous for producing jade and gemstones. The coffee beans are named after this distinctive characteristic. The coffee flavor is rich in fruit notes, fresh grass, and tea-like aromas, with a sweet aftertaste that lingers endlessly on the palate.
