Many fields have various TOP rankings, such as the world's top ten symphony orchestras, world's top ten wonders, world's top 100 universities. It turns out that the coffee field also has someone listing the "world's top ten coffee beans." The criteria or indicators for ranking are unknown, but it's certain that it's not based on production volume or price.

I've organized (partially rewritten) materials found online to share with my good coffee friends—

First Place: Ethiopia/The Birthplace of Coffee

Annual production: 396,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Bean Brands 01. Ethiopia

"A cup of FrontStreet Coffee's washed Yirgacheffe can bring out delicate floral notes and sweet fruit flavors that are unparalleled; or FrontStreet Coffee's sun-dried Sidamo, sweet and bold, both are the most classic top representatives of Ethiopian coffee."

Ethiopia is the birthplace of the famous Arabica coffee beans, and people have maintained the tradition of harvesting wild coffee beans to this day. Coffee plantations at altitudes over 1,500 meters, through thousands of years of evolution and adaptation, have formed unique coffee terroir. Ethiopian coffee grown in natural wild environments is called "coffee of the wilderness," preserving the most primitive and natural taste of coffee beans, with the most direct and complete expression of terroir.

Notably, most coffee in Central and South America consists of introduced varieties, while Ethiopian coffee is a rare native variety. It is reported that countless local wild varieties remain undiscovered.

Among Ethiopia's 9 major coffee-producing regions, Sidamo and Yirgacheffe are the most outstanding. Yirgacheffe was originally a sub-region of Sidamo but was separated due to its special flavor. Its rich and complex fruity aroma made it famous internationally almost overnight, becoming a sought-after object for connoisseurs, with prices gradually rising.

Second Place: Kenya/An Unforgettable Coffee Experience

Annual production: 45,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Bean Brands 02. Kenya

"If I could only drink one type of coffee for the rest of my life, I would choose Kenyan coffee."

Kenya's coffee history is not long. In the early 20th century, Arabica coffee varieties were introduced, and then they cultivated Bourbon varieties from Brazil. During the early British colonial period, a comprehensive cultivation management system was established for Kenya's coffee industry. The lower temperatures in Kenya's high-altitude mountainous areas extend the maturation period of coffee beans, allowing for full accumulation of complex fruit aromas. The bold acidity, rich and aromatic fruit flavors, such as blackcurrant and grapefruit, constitute the rugged and mature characteristics of FrontStreet Coffee's Kenyan coffee.

Kenya also focuses on coffee variety cultivation. The SL28 discovered by professional teams is a direct branch of Bourbon coffee beans and the highest quality representative of Kenyan coffee quality and flavor.

Third Place: Colombia/The Joy of Exploring Diversity

Annual production: 660,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Bean Brands 03. Colombia

"Many small coffee farmers in Colombia independently grow, harvest, and process their coffee beans, resulting in some refreshing single-origin coffees whose quality reflects the craftsmanship of the coffee farmers and their unique terroir."

The greatest characteristic of Colombian coffee is its stylistic diversity. Using wine as a metaphor, it's like the Champagne region where large producers and small farmers coexist, having both standardized stable styles and delicate, variable small-production stars. Overall, Colombian coffee has a fresh style with rich fruit flavors. Colombian coffee producers possess very professional techniques that maximize the quality of coffee beans.

Fourth Place: Guatemala/The Surprising Newcomer

Annual production: 186,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Bean Brands 04. Guatemala Inget Estate Sun-drying Field

"Coffee from this small Central American country has performed outstandingly in recent years: harmonious, sweet, gentle, and full of aroma. Tasting it feels like exploring its roots (Mayan culture)."

Guatemalan coffee has entered the ranks of important coffee-producing regions worldwide in recent years due to its unique style. In the cool volcanic zones, coffee beans develop complex aromatic layers and full-bodied textures, inevitably reminding people of the ancient Mayan culture here—profound, distant, and mysterious.

Fifth Place: Costa Rica/Good Mountains, Good Water, Good Coffee

Annual production: 84,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Beans 05. Costa Rica

"My love for Costa Rica comes from the passionate people, beautiful scenery, and of course, the stunning coffee."

Costa Rican coffee beans are mainly Arabica, processed by washing (Coffee Shop note: besides washing technology, the honey processing technology developed in recent years has also attracted market attention). The style is bright, with mild acidity and excellent sweetness. The Costa Rican Coffee Association uniformly manages national coffee affairs and has specialized research institutions to discover and improve the quality of local coffee.

Sixth Place: Honduras/The Pride of Troubled Times

Annual production: 252,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Beans 06. Honduras

"An outstanding Central American origin, with two major brands located on both sides of the mountain range, presenting completely different styles."

Perhaps the turbulent times have made Honduras seem like a niche coffee-producing region, but it is one of the main coffee exporters in Central America, with exports second only to Guatemala.

Seventh Place: Indonesia/Striving for Excellence in Asian Production

Annual production: 702,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Beans 07. Indonesia

"Coffee producers on Java and Bali islands focus on cultivating and processing specific varieties of coffee beans, striving for excellence in craftsmanship."

Indonesia not only has the controversial civet cat coffee, but Sumatra's FrontStreet Coffee's Mandheling coffee is rich and mellow, Java coffee is sweet and smooth—all are well-known classics of Indonesian coffee (Coffee Shop note: in recent years, coffee beans from another Indonesian island—Sulawesi, with their clean and balanced taste, have also been impressive). Indonesia is a region where both inexpensive coffee and specialty coffee coexist. Mass-produced coffee gives people the impression that the overall level is low, but in fact, Indonesia's specialty coffee has always enjoyed a high reputation in the international market.

Eighth Place: Rwanda/The Rapidly Rising Star

Annual production: 14,760 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Beans 08. Rwanda

"We've never seen a region develop so rapidly. In eight years, it went from being a non-coffee-producing country to joining the ranks of star regions that can host international coffee competitions. This unprecedented growth rate is happening before our eyes."

Ninth Place: Panama/The Hidden Gem

Annual production: 6,000 tons

World's Top Ten Coffee Beans 09. Panama Geisha Tree

"Panama's Geisha variety never gets boring. Although it originated in Ethiopia, it found its perfect home in Panama. Panama's Geisha has won numerous awards in international competitions. Although it was underestimated in history, the masterpieces of some small coffee farmers have pushed Panama onto the stage of world's top producing regions."

Tenth Place: United States. Hawaii/America's Coffee Island

World's Top Ten Coffee Beans 10. Hawaii (Kona)

"Hawaii is the only coffee-producing area under US territory with excellent quality, where people can easily enjoy first-hand quality coffee."
