Baru Volcano is not only the highest mountain range in Panama, but the sedimentary materials from early volcanic activities and eruptions have brought large amounts of extremely fertile soil. These soils are rich in nutrients, and the volcanic ash is particularly abundant in phosphorus and sulfur. When mixed with clay and combined with unique climate patterns, this region has formed an environment suitable for growing high-quality coffee. The dense forests and numerous species have created overall biodiversity.
Here, about 50 coffee farmers form a small cooperative, all using traditional Boquete methods to produce coffee—letting coffee grow in a near-natural environment. Although production is not high, it maintains a rich ecological environment, and soil quality can be maintained or even improved. Natural growing methods are not only beneficial to the environment; because coffee fruits grow slowly, they are more likely to develop high-quality coffee beans with excellent flavor. Farmers manually harvest the complete coffee cherries and send them to the nearby Cafe de Eleta S.A. for post-processing. The processing plant is about 4 kilometers away from the farm and is equipped with a modern laboratory for cupping quality control and manual selection.

Hand-poured Cupid. 15g of powder, medium grind (Fuji ghost tooth blade #4 grinding), V60 filter cup, 88-89°C water temperature. First pour 30g of water, steam for 27 seconds, pour to 105g water and stop. Wait until the powder bed water level drops to half before pouring again, slowly pour until reaching 225g water, discard the tail section. Water-to-powder ratio 1:15, extraction time 2:00.

In particular, Geisha variety coffee from Panama has led the global trend of specialty coffee, successfully attracting global market interest in Panama coffee. The Boquete region is Panama's oldest and most famous coffee-producing area, located on the eastern side of Baru Volcano, with an average altitude of about 1000-2000 meters. The "Baru Volcano National Park" is a conservation area with extremely rich biodiversity, possessing multiple microclimates. Coupled with year-round mist and abundant rainfall, this creates excellent local cultivation conditions, giving Boquete coffee its unique aroma and making it the region with the highest production and best quality in Panama.
