Guatemala is a country with numerous volcanoes, and coffee produced in volcanic soil is known for its rich flavor profile as specialty coffee. Guatemala has a high average altitude, which means coffee trees grow in environments with significant temperature differences between day and night. This harsh environment of large day-night temperature variations causes coffee cherries to mature longer and more slowly on the coffee trees, resulting in hard beans with more complete and rich flavors.

Nuevo Oriente

The characteristics of this region include fertile volcanic soil, low humidity, abundant sunshine, and cool nights. This valley is surrounded by three volcanoes: Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. Volcanic ash from eruptions enriches the Antigua region's soil with minerals. Volcanic pumice helps retain moisture, overcoming the disadvantage of low rainfall in the Antigua region, while dense tree shade protects against occasional frost damage.

Characteristics: Rich wet aroma, good balance, high sweetness, elegant and clean mouthfeel.

This newly arrived coffee comes from the top-tier Cardenas Estate, located in the Nuevo Oriente region of Guatemala.

Wine-fermented Natural Process Flavor: Pineapple, muskmelon, dried apricot, candied lemon peel, Bordeaux wine, green tea with cinnamon spice, overall rich with sweet notes and full-bodied smoky plum aroma.
