Starbucks' "Good Start to Work, Filled with Expectations" Event

Starbucks recently launched a campaign called "Good Start to Work, Filled with Expectations." During the event period, customers simply needed to accumulate 150 yuan in actual purchases to apply for and receive a brand-new laptop bag.

In Starbucks' earliest promotional images, four laptop bags were on offer: the "Great Rabbit Fortune" style, the "Bag Replica" style, the "Coffee Tasting" style, and the "Love Starbucks" style. The one accused of plagiarism this time was the "Great Rabbit Fortune" laptop bag.

When the promotional images went live, sharp-eyed netizens were quick to point out an alleged resemblance to the luxury brand Alexander Wang. They noted that the "Great Rabbit Fortune" style looked very similar to a bag from the Alexander Wang line, and posted comparison images to make their case.

Starbucks Responds to the Controversy

Starbucks China subsequently pulled the earlier promotional images. In the newly updated Weibo promotion posted on January 28th, only three laptop bags remained.

Starbucks has now removed the "Great Rabbit Fortune" laptop bag from sale, and the same style has also been deleted from the activity graphics in the Starbucks ordering mini-program. Curiously, though, the words "Great Rabbit Fortune style laptop bag" can still be found if you open the activity terms.

As of the time of publication, Starbucks officials had not responded to the incident.
