Recently on social media platforms, netizens have often expressed that when going to Starbucks, buying coffee isn't the most important thing - buying cups is actually the top priority!!

In the coffee world, Starbucks cups can indeed be said to be the most popular. They frequently release new models and series, which then get hyped, queued for, and snatched up by various people. For example, the Year of the Rabbit series cups launched this year were already being frantically discussed on social media platforms even before they hit the shelves - their appearance is truly gorgeous!! But besides these limited edition cups, have you ever tried to purchase empty beverage cups at Starbucks? Does Starbucks provide them?!

Recently, according to foreign media HITC, a post about a customer who, out of anger after a Starbucks employee in Canada refused their request to only buy empty cups, poured coffee directly onto the floor has been "going viral" on social media platforms.

The post stated that the customer simply wanted to buy an empty cup, but was told by the Starbucks staff that if they wanted an empty cup, they had to purchase coffee to accompany it. The customer then bought two cups of coffee, got the cups they wanted, but out of dissatisfaction, they poured the purchased coffee directly onto the floor, keeping only the cups.

According to reports, the post has already received over 95,500+ likes and over 2.3 million views on foreign social media platforms, as well as thousands of comments. Netizens commenting below have different opinions on this matter.

Some netizens expressed: "I work at a certain coffee shop, and we often provide empty cups when customers need them; so Starbucks doesn't allow buying just cups, right? They feel they shouldn't have to buy a cup of coffee just for an empty cup..." Others joked: "You're actually wasting two cups of coffee that you have to pay for by pouring it on the ground..."

Many netizens also understood the employee, saying: "The policy wasn't made by the employees, they're just following company regulations. It looks like it's in a mall, so why not ask at the food court instead?" Other netizens strongly condemned the customer: "I can't imagine what kind of reason such a person has to live their life..."
