On August 12 local time, the Russian Federal Intellectual Property Patent and Trademark Office stated that it recently received name and trademark applications for Sturbucks (spelled correctly) coffee shop chain, though it remains unclear which option will be the final trademark.

Just before this, Russian rapper Timur Yunusov suddenly announced on his Instagram account that he had jointly acquired Starbucks' assets in Russia and would co-manage them with the owner of the renowned Russian catering company Pinskiy & Co and Arsen Kanokov's Sindika company, a Russian senator.

In his post, Timur Yunusov also expressed his intention to make this brand even better than the world-famous "mermaid" from across the ocean, and invited Russian netizens to jointly create the new brand name and logo.

According to Royal Bank of Canada, the Sturbucks name application was jointly submitted by Timur Yunusov and restaurant company owner Anton Pinsky.

Additionally, Pinsky plans to register three trademarks under his own name: Stars Pinskiy Coffee, Stars Kanokov Coffee, and Stars Coffee.

Subsequently, the Russian Business Council (RBC) confirmed from the company that produced the three trademark applications that these were submitted by the new brand management, but did not specify which option was the final trademark. However, this did not affect the decision on the brand's opening time.

Even before settling on a name and designing a logo, the rapper had already stated in his post that the new brand's coffee shop chain would open in mid-August. Now that the names and logos are available, but the final choice hasn't been made, it has been confirmed that the new brand's coffee shop chain will open to media on August 16.

Notably, previous reports indicated that the rapper and restaurant company owner wanted to create a logo completely different from Starbucks. Originally, they intended to use a LEGO bear as the new logo design and transform the existing coffee chain concept into a place where singers could meet fans, with each cup of coffee bearing the singer's autograph. However, considering the increased workload in the later stages, they decided that signatures would be printed using a thermal printer.

So why wasn't the LEGO bear used as the logo in the end? Possibly because the senator disagreed. Here are the views of Russian netizens on the new logo of this coffee chain brand (all translated by Google):
