To raise awareness and support the disabled community, the Blue Wind Chime Program teamed up with a Shanghai coffee shop to turn it into an anti-fraud themed establishment. They also partnered with a design team of hearing-impaired professionals from Chongqing to create an accessible anti-fraud comic book with audio functionality — open the book and a voice feature reads the content aloud, walking readers through multiple common scam scenarios.

Inclusive Anti-Fraud Education

Beyond the audio comic books, the coffee shop's baristas serve as sign language interpreters during anti-fraud workshops, giving disabled customers multiple channels to access fraud-prevention knowledge. These interpreting baristas are themselves hearing-impaired, so they deeply understand the community's perspective. As one of them notes, presenting fraud prevention in comic form makes the information easy for people with disabilities to read, learn, and absorb.

Creating Opportunities and Breaking Barriers

Choosing this coffee shop as the workshop venue serves a dual purpose: it gives people with disabilities a place to learn while also creating employment opportunities within the shop itself. The initiative hopes to chip away at social prejudice around disabled employment. These baristas are no different from anyone else in social interaction or on-the-job competence.
