A newsstand on the streets of Wenzhou has quietly turned into a coffee shop. According to reports, a kiosk cafe named "EPISODE DAILY. Daily Episode" now operates next to Xiaogao Bridge on Fuqian Street in downtown Wenzhou - the city's second newsstand coffee shop.

This shop is the first boutique coffee convenience kiosk born of the collaboration between EPISODE DAILY. Daily Episode and China Post.

From the photos, the shop leans on purple and green as its primary colors, with a compact footprint.

The menu is a statement in itself: no milk coffee at all - only Americanos.

The Americano lineup includes a regular Americano, a cucumber Americano (their signature), a sparkling Americano, and a beer coffee (non-alcoholic).

Shenzhen's Newsstand Coffee Shop

Shenzhen has joined the trend as well. Its first newsstand coffee shop, iuGis, was converted from a traditional newsstand in Yuanling New Village, Futian District.

The space is tiny: beyond the coffee preparation area there's a single table and three chairs, so the shop is built around takeaway coffee.

The whole storefront is finished in dark green, wrapping the exterior walls in deep tones that set off the bright red coffee cups inside.

The newsstand's original soul survives too: fresh newspapers are still updated daily at the entrance.

That's the shop's biggest charm compared with an ordinary cafe: you can sip coffee while reading the paper - the dream of coffee in one hand, newspaper in the other, finally realized.

On the beverage side, iuGis offers several Americano variations, such as a passion fruit Americano and an orange Americano.
