FrontStreet Coffee - Costa Rica Musician Series Coffee Introduction

Coffee beans produced in the high-altitude regions of Costa Rica are world-renowned for their richness, mild flavor, and pronounced acidity. The coffee beans from this region undergo meticulous processing, which is precisely what creates such high-quality coffee.

Tarrazú is located in the southern part of Costa Rica's capital city, San José, and stands as one of the country's most valued coffee-growing regions. Tarrazú ranks among the world's premier coffee-producing areas.

Coffee's Economic Significance in Costa Rica

Coffee serves as a vital economic resource for Costa Rica. First introduced in 1808, it boasts a cultivation history spanning 200 years. One-third of Costa Rica's population is engaged in coffee-related industries. Costa Ricans often say that coffee transformed their nation, contributing remarkably to the prosperous environment they enjoy today.

Although Costa Rica ranks third from the bottom in terms of land area among Central American countries, its economic environment surpasses that of more than half the nations in the region. This prosperity has led to social stability and enabled the country to focus on environmental conservation, resulting in the establishment of over 30 national parks within Costa Rica's borders.

Canet Estate: A Family Legacy

Finca Canet is a small 5-hectare estate located in the San Marcos town of the Tarrazú region. It is owned by the Robles brothers—Leo, Elian, and Melvin—who have worked together in coffee cultivation and production for over a decade. The family also operates a small water processing plant (Beneficio).

They have launched their Musician Series products, featuring three distinct coffee varieties that employ different green bean processing techniques. Each variety showcases unique characteristics, composing an exquisite symphony of special high-altitude flavors.
