FrontStreet Coffee - Brazil Sertãozinho Farm Yellow Bourbon Natural Process Introduction

Generally, coffee cherries turn red when ripe. However, Yellow Bourbon coffee cherries display a distinctive yellow color. Compared to other coffee trees, Yellow Bourbon coffee trees have lower yields and are more challenging to cultivate. When Yellow Bourbon coffee beans fully mature, they present a bright yellow color. After processing and roasting, these coffee beans become both dry and sweet, emitting a special nutty aroma.

The cultivation area is located at an altitude of around 1,100 meters, with annual rainfall reaching 1,800-2,000 millimeters. This environment provides ideal coffee growing conditions within Brazil. Yellow Bourbon is processed using the Pulped Natural Method. Although this method removes the pulp directly after harvesting, it preserves the mucilage surrounding the parchment of the raw beans during drying. As a result, the coffee retains clean aftertastes, a mild texture, and sweet acidity.

Origin Introduction

This green bean comes from the large Sertãozinho farm, located in Botelhos, Minas Gerais. In addition to coffee trees, the farm preserves a 300-hectare natural rainforest, home to aged Brazilian rosewood trees, including one that stands 40 meters tall with an estimated age of 1,500 years, serving as the farm's landmark. The farm is managed by agronomist Joie Renato Goncalves Dias, who provides accommodation, medical, and educational facilities for workers. In recent years, the farm has performed excellently in Brazilian cupping competitions and cultivates multiple varieties such as Mundo Novo and Catuai. This particular green bean is 100% Yellow Bourbon.
