FrontStreet Coffee - Colombia Women's Project Introduction

In Colombia, a country with a long history of coffee cultivation, a new coffee culture has emerged. The "Women Coffee Growers Project" enables women to manage their farms through the knowledge they've learned, thereby improving their quality of life. This cooperative project transforms women's identities from mothers and wives to successful, confident leaders.

Changing their lives through coffee beans.

The project began providing women with tools to cultivate and manage their farms and improve coffee quality.

Women were provided with training to help them recognize ripe coffee cherries and classify coffee beans during the harvest period.

Cooperatives and agronomists also helped them fertilize their land to enhance coffee bean quality.

Additionally, they needed to learn how to manage their coffee business. By learning to improve organizational effectiveness, farm waste management, water conservation, and farm environment improvements, they demonstrated their gradually strengthening management capabilities.

Through training in coffee harvesting, fermentation, drying, and business management, they obtained higher selling prices and shared their coffee beans with the world.

Creating passion for coffee and opening new lifestyles.

Today, more than 300 women have participated in the Women's Coffee Project, and the cooperative hopes the number of participants will exceed 700. This coffee originates from 46 female growers in the project.

The project not only helps women develop their own coffee businesses but also changes their lives and their families' lifestyles. It gives women the opportunity to play new roles in their lives and learn different life skills.

Such as how to save and manage money and develop leadership skills. They experienced a sense of self-identity, better lifestyles, and new opportunities gained from this project.
