FrontStreet Coffee - Sidamo Guji G1 Washed Processing Introduction

The naturally growing, beautiful and fertile mountain peaks of the Guji region in Sidamo, situated at altitudes above 2000 meters, bear crimson and abundant coffee cherries. The specialty in natural processing methods adds honey-like sweetness and floral notes to the coffee, reminiscent of a garden in full bloom, with flavors comparable to Geisha.

Ethiopia has two best-producing regions: Yiragcheffe and Sidamo. Sidamo coffee grows in the southernmost Ethiopian highlands at altitudes between 4600-7200 feet (Sidamo province). It is a famous specialty coffee region in southern Ethiopia, bordering Kenya, located southeast of Jimma and directly south of the capital. Typically characterized by distinct sweetness, it is favored by many people. Its annual production is approximately 225,000 bags/60kg, with beans slightly smaller than Longberry, greenish with gray tones.

Ethiopia Guji, also known as "Flower Queen," is located in Hambella. Hambella is situated in Ethiopia's largest coffee-producing region, Guji (GUJI), administratively belonging to the Oromia region. Hambella's west looks across the mountain range toward Yiragcheffe's Kochore, while its southeast, east, and north borders Guji's sub-regions of Shakiso, Uraga, and Kercha respectively. It is Ethiopia's highest-altitude coffee sub-region (Harrar is Ethiopia's highest-altitude main region).
